Culinary
One of the most common uses of stainless steel is in kitchens, both domestic and commercial, where the strength and resilience combined with stain, corrosion, and heat resistance of stainless steel sheet is ideal for work surfaces, splashbacks, tools, cookware, cutlery, and appliances. It doesn't contaminate foods and it's easy to clean. Stainless steel sheet is also widely used in similar environments, such as food processing and manufacturing, the dairy industry, breweries, and storage facilities.
Architectural
Widely used in the building trade for fixtures and fittings, as well as anything that comes into contact with human hands very often (railings, handles, pushplates, etc). The resilience of stainless steel sheet also makes it ideal for kickplates. The ability of stainless steel to resist the elements also makes it ideal for exterior cladding, even in coastal areas.
Transport
The inherent strength of stainless steel sheet make it ideal for many structural elements of cars, and the range of finishes available for it mean it's also useful for trim and even bodywork. These same properties make it widely used railway rolling stock and trailers.
Maritime
Widely used in marine environments due to its inherent resistance to the corrosion of salt-water, stainless steel sheet is usually found in fixtures, fittings, and instrumentation. There are also many applications for stainless steel in offshore oil and gas exploration.
Medical
Just like in the culinary trade, stainless steel sheet is widely used for clean and even sterile environments in medical and surgical settings. These same properties of strength, anti-corrosion, and ease of maintenance also make it ideal in medical implements, from scalpels to bed pans, and even in medical implants.
Fabrication & Processing of Stainless Steel Sheet
CNC Routing
We offer an expert in-house CNC routing service as part of our state-of-the-art facilities. Taking technical drawings in either paper or computer file format to one-off or exactly repeatable high-volumbe product in a matter of days. Capable of handling 4000 x 2500mm stainless steel sheet up to 20mm thick, we can cut, groove, chamfer, channel, engrave and drill any design. Solid relationships with several of Europe's biggest tooling manufacturers mean we can source the best possible tools to produce our products.
Blanking
We can provide cut to length blanks of aluminium sheet from the coil to customer-specified length and width requirements up to 1250mm wide. Blanking facilities are supported by a dedicated guillotine section which can provide blanks up to 4m.
Continuous investment in our processing facilities, such as the recently introduced 21 rolls computerised precision levelling system, guarantees high-quality cut blanks.
Guillotining
We have dedicated guillotines to produce finished blanks from stainless steel sheet. With particular experience in the automotive industry, from automotive manufacturers to the industry's main subcontractors.
Special Finishes
We offer pre-painted, sublimation printing, pre-anodised, bright rolled finishes, and poly coating to protect surface finish for stainless steel sheet.
Righton Blackburns' special finishes are widely used in the lighting, trophy, engraving, sign and architectural markets
