Aluminium Bronze ASTM B150-C63200 is an American naval alloy that is a strong, corrosion resistant material that performs well at high and low temperatures.
Containing around 9% aluminium, 5% nickel and 4% iron the alloy offers an inherent high strength and hardness combined with a very good toughness and an excellent resistance to wear, shock and abrasion.
C63200 offers superior salt water corrosion resistance and is resistant to cavitation and erosion. Quenched and tempered to eliminate the possibility of corrosion C63200 is commonly used in the building of nuclear submarines as well as surface ships. A non-sparking alloy, C63200 can also be used in explosive environments so therefore is ideal for the petrochemical, mining and weapon handling industries.
Displaying good strength and toughness, C63200 performing well at both low and elevated temperatures. Easily welded and with good resistance to shock, C63200 alloy has low magnetic permeability making it ideal for use on instrumentation systems, seawater piping systems and marine propulsion units.
B150 C63200 is used in the naval, defence, petrochemical, mining and weapon handling industries.
